About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform basic structural analysis using established tools and methods to assess structural environments and performance
- Validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications in operational environments
- Support in-service products by investigating failures and identifying potential improvements
- Collaborate with team members, program managers, regulatory agencies, and operational users
- Support test execution and analyze/report results to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements
- Contribute to product design using analytical methods, finite element models, and simulations throughout the product lifecycle
- Coordinate with other engineering groups to help define the product’s environment
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences)
- Experience multi-tasking and working effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work collaboratively to reach decisions with multiple engineering and support teams
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 or more years of related work experience
- Experience with aerospace stress analysis and/or structural analysis
- Experience performing Durability and Damage Tolerance Analysis (D&DT) for aircraft
- Experience executing Aircraft Structural Integrity Programs (ASIP)
- Experience with Finite Element Modeling (FEM)
- Proficiency in performing stress, thermal, fatigue, fastener, and tolerance analysis using software and manual calculations
