Stripping Lathe Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate lathes according to specific instructions and job tickets
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents
• Utilize various precision measurement devices including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and rulers
• Install and remove special fixtures, expanding mandrels, and plugs as required
• Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes using slings and straps to move rolls
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and manage personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Perform various facility tasks and odd jobs as directed by the supervisor

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency
• Ability to read, write, and understand English
• Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and interpreting technical instructions
• Strong basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, and stooping for extended periods
• Ability to use finger and hand dexterity to manipulate objects
