About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analyses and develop substantiation for aircraft modifications, repairs, and certification programs
- Develop engineering analyses including static strength, fatigue, damage tolerance, vibration, and thermal evaluations
- Prepare engineering reports, stress reports, margin of safety calculations, and compliance documentation
- Review engineering designs and drawings to verify structural integrity and manufacturability
- Develop structural load paths, free-body diagrams, and analytical models
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and external stakeholders to resolve structural issues
- Provide technical support during fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing activities
- Participate in engineering design reviews and provide technical recommendations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience in structural analysis and engineering substantiation for aircraft or aerospace products
- Working knowledge of structural mechanics, materials, fatigue, damage tolerance, and vibration
- Proficiency in finite element analysis (FEA) and classical hand calculations
- Experience preparing stress reports and margin of safety calculations
- Ability to work in both office and aircraft hangar environments
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status
Preferred Qualifications
- Five or more years of experience in aircraft modification or aerospace product development
- Experience with FAA certification, STC programs, or military airworthiness
- Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-516C requirements
- Experience with commercial engineering software such as ANSYS, FEMAP, NASTRAN, Abaqus, or Mathcad
- Knowledge of aerospace materials, composite structures, and fastener systems
- Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems
