Stress Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis using classical hand methods and finite element analysis on metallic and non-metallic structures
• Prepare formal engineering documentation, including structural analysis reports and specifications
• Present design review material during technical interchange meetings with suppliers and customers
• Review designs for preliminary sizing of structural reinforcements and load path definition
• Support the design process from conceptual stages through critical and detail design
• Write, review, or approve structural substantiation reports for certifying authorities (TCCA/FAA/EASA)
• Assess primary and secondary structures and flight test installations from a static strength perspective
• Perform fatigue and damage tolerance assessments based on mission profile requirements
• Perform Material Review Board (MRB) duties in support of operations as required

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant stress engineering experience
• U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder) per ITAR requirements
• Proficiency in FEM tools such as Patran, Nastran, Nasgro, or Altair
• Proficiency in CATIA V5
• Understanding of civil aircraft certification rules and experience with certification procedures
• Strong understanding of aircraft structural load paths and analysis methodologies
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Material Review Board (MRB) duties
• Experience in an integration role or function
