About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and oversee sport-specific, periodized strength and conditioning programs tailored to varsity athletes' physiological demands.
- Provide direct instruction and supervision of student-athletes during all strength and conditioning activities.
- Coordinate the scheduling and utilization of strength and conditioning facilities.
- Collaborate with sport coaches to align physical preparation with specific training objectives.
- Work closely with athletic training and sports medicine staff to support injury prevention, rehabilitation, and return-to-play protocols.
- Establish and enforce policies, procedures, and emergency action plans regarding facility safety and equipment use.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate assistant coaches, interns, or graduate assistants as assigned.
- Maintain accurate records for workouts, facility usage, and equipment inventory.
- Ensure compliance with NCAA, PSAC, MAC, University, and departmental regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related or relevant area (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in strength and conditioning.
- Current nationally recognized strength and conditioning certification (e.g., CSCS or SCCC).
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain them within a designated timeframe).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.
- Physical ability to demonstrate movements and safely lift up to 100 lbs of equipment.
