About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and execute evidence-based, periodized strength and conditioning programs synchronized with unit training schedules.
- Manage physical performance optimization training programs within the framework of the unit’s operational culture and battle rhythm.
- Provide instruction and guidance to Soldiers and unit leadership regarding physical strength, conditioning, and injury mitigation strategies.
- Coach and mentor Soldiers, including those with physical limitations who are medically cleared for reconditioning.
- Collect performance data and prepare detailed documentation and reporting.
- Identify and direct Soldiers with apparent new or undiagnosed medical conditions to appropriate medical professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Current NSCA CSCS or CSCCA SCCC certification (candidates planning to pursue these are encouraged to apply).
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant strength and conditioning work experience.
- Current BLS or CPR/AED certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
- US Citizenship and ability to pass a Tier 1 government background investigation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams) and English fluency.
- Physical ability to lift up to 45 pounds and perform training in various weather conditions and austere environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Homeland Security, or Department of Justice entities.
- Military veteran status (experience requirements may be waived for veterans).
