Street Outreach Worker

Responsibilities

• Conduct client intake and assessments to determine immediate needs and required supports
• Refer clients to the Community Ministry Coordinator or Corps Officer for pastoral assistance
• Assist with food bank operations, including processing, unloading, sorting, and restocking food and toy donations
• Maintain food bank stock, cleanliness, and organization in compliance with health and safety standards
• Assist with food drives and the pickup of donations from community donors
• Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations and organizational policies

Requirements

• Completion of minimum Grade 10
• At least 3 months of experience working or volunteering in community-based programs, including work with multi-barriered individuals
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs (22.68 kg)
• Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with conferred refugee protection (Canada Summer Jobs Program criteria)
• Ability to pass a police record check

Preferred Qualifications

• Safe Food Handling certification
• First Aid/CPR certification
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
