About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic partner to the SPEN CEO and Executive Team, providing timely briefings on operational and strategic objectives
- Lead and coordinate key strategic initiatives across the business to ensure alignment and clear ownership
- Support the development, coordination, and delivery of SPEN’s long-term strategy and priority initiatives
- Provide high-quality financial and operational analysis to inform executive decision-making
- Act as a key interface between SPEN and the wider ScottishPower and Iberdrola Group regarding strategic submissions and board papers
- Track and monitor business unit objectives, key risks, and opportunities to ensure accountability
- Prepare executive-level presentations and briefing packs for Operating Committees and Boards
- Oversee critical areas including headcount management and Long Term Outlook (LTO) planning
Requirements
- Relevant degree in business, finance, or a related discipline
- Chartered Accountant or equivalent professional qualification
- At least five years of post-qualified experience in a financial, investment, audit, or assurance environment
- Excellent PowerPoint and executive presentation skills
- Strong financial, commercial, and operational acumen
- Proven ability to solve complex, ambiguous business problems and distill them into actionable advice
- Experience working closely with senior leaders or Executive teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a regulated environment, utilities, or a large complex organisation
- Knowledge of the UK utilities sector and SPEN value drivers
