Strategy & Operations Lead

August is building the autopilot for legal services. We believe that in five years, more than 80% of legal work will pass through a model before it ever reaches a human. Our mission is to make high-quality legal work accessible and affordable for everyone by helping law firms and in-house teams restructure their delivery models around AI.

Responsibilities

• Build and own August's operating cadence, including product-to-GTM digests, sales-to-product loops, and monthly metrics reviews.
• Source, structure, and close commercial partnerships with integration and distribution partners.
• Run two-week strategic sprints on high-leverage projects such as pricing, jurisdiction expansion, and sales motion modeling.
• Partner with product, engineering, GTM, and legal teams to build and hand off finished systems.
• Track and report on partnership performance and operational metrics to drive real-time decisions.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in strategy consulting, operations, BizOps, finance, or a high-performance startup.
• Proven ability to manage ambiguous briefs without supervision.
• AI-native operating fluency, including experience building automations, agents, or internal tools.
• Comfort with commercial deal structures and partnership negotiations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in person at our NYC office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Former founders.
• Demonstrated history of shipping products or systems.
