Strategy and Organisational Design Director

Responsibilities

• Lead complex strategy and organisational design engagements from framing through to activation
• Act as a senior client partner, building trust with leadership teams and scoping opportunities
• Direct multidisciplinary teams across strategy, research, and design
• Facilitate executive conversations to advance decisions and align leadership
• Prototype strategic and organisational futures through experimentation and iteration
• Coach and mentor designers and project leads
• Help clients navigate the human dimensions of AI adoption and organisational restructuring
• Represent IDEO externally through writing, talks, and industry relationships

Requirements

• Strong track record leading innovation, strategy, or organisational design engagements
• Proven systems thinker with an understanding of interconnected organisational structures
• Experience helping organisations navigate large-scale transformation
• Strong facilitation and narrative skills for senior executive environments
• Experience in people leadership and directing multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to scope and build new client relationships and proposals
• Understanding of the intersection between strategy, AI, and human-centred change

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading transformation within health organisations
• Experience helping organisations navigate human-centred AI adoption
• Experience building or contributing to an innovation practice
• Fluency in strategic choice-making frameworks (e.g., Playing to Win)
• Experience in European markets or regulatory environments
• Fluency in a second language
