Strategy Analyst, Commercial Banking

Responsibilities

• Conduct external market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic initiatives
• Support the development and refinement of business strategies and go-to-market plans
• Analyze financial data and KPIs to identify growth opportunities and operational improvements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate strategic options and build business cases
• Prepare executive presentations and strategic recommendations for senior leadership
• Translate complex data into actionable recommendations for senior decision-makers

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Business, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel (macros, pivot tables, etc.)
• Proficiency in data visualization and tools such as Tableau, Confluence, Jira, or SharePoint
• Understanding of business fundamentals, financial modeling, and accounting principles
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous internship or project management experience in strategy, consulting, or business development
• Familiarity with commercial banking, financial services, or commercial lending
• Knowledge of RBC's business lines and competitive landscape
• Experience leveraging AI tools for market research and data analysis
