Strategic Sourcing Specialist

About the Company

Northwood is a modern space infrastructure company bringing the benefits of space to the masses through advanced communications technology. We are building a global network of phased array ground stations that enable real-time, reliable communication for satellite missions such as national security, global connectivity, and disaster response.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for commodities, components, and suppliers to support production and NPI programs
• Lead supplier sourcing activities including RFQs/RFIs, evaluation, selection, and contract negotiations
• Manage procurement execution through purchase orders, material planning, and supplier coordination
• Monitor and improve supplier performance, driving on-time delivery and mitigating risks
• Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program teams
• Analyze supplier spend and market conditions to identify savings opportunities

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in direct procurement, purchasing, material planning, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
• Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and lookups
• Experience managing purchase orders and supplier relationships
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual per ITAR regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting NPI or prototype builds in a startup or high-growth environment
• Background in aerospace, satellite, telecommunications, or defense industries
• Familiarity with PCBAs, electromechanical assemblies, or complex hardware systems
• Exposure to MRP planning concepts and execution
