Strategic Sourcing Manager - Batteries

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies for battery cells, packs, BMU/uBMU, and related sub-systems for Metaverse and Wearables programs
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to optimize energy density, safety, and cost-efficiency
• Drive supplier innovation by conducting technology roadmap reviews and evaluating cell chemistry and pack architecture
• Lead complex negotiations for purchase agreements, capacity reservations, and long-term supply contracts
• Champion cost reduction programs using should-cost models and raw material indexing
• Manage supplier performance and build executive-level relationships with tier-1 global cell suppliers
• Create contingency plans to mitigate risks related to raw material volatility and geopolitical factors

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical, Materials, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial), Supply Chain, or Business
• 10+ years of sourcing experience in consumer electronics, automotive, or a similar high-complexity industry
• Direct experience in battery cell and/or pack sourcing
• Working knowledge of lithium-ion cell chemistry, design, and manufacturing processes
• Proven experience in supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and supply base management
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for supply modeling and data analysis

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience ramping high-volume consumer electronics or wearable products
• Established relationships with tier-1 battery cell suppliers
• Experience working with CMs, ODMs, OEMs, and pack houses
• MBA or Master of Engineering
• Ability to integrate AI tools to optimize workflows and drive efficiency
