Strategic Solution Engineer

Responsibilities

• Drive the technical sales process by conducting detailed client discovery and needs analysis.
• Prepare and deliver persona-tailored technical demonstrations and presentations to communicate product value.
• Design complex software solutions and proposals that align with client success criteria and technical requirements.
• Partner with Account Managers to support sales opportunities, tender processes, and technical queries.
• Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to provide customer feedback and influence product roadmaps.
• Facilitate smooth hand-offs to Implementation and Customer Success teams to ensure successful post-sales transitions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in a Solution Engineer, Pre-Sales Consultant, or similar technical sales role.
• Proven experience using a consultative selling approach for complex software solutions.
• Strong software demonstration and presentation skills with the ability to communicate technical ideas clearly.
• Extensive experience selling, servicing, and implementing software systems.
• Excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SaaS (Software as a Service) models.
• Expertise in publishing systems, workflows, or the academic information industry.
• Experience working within an international, matrixed organization.
