About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop insights into how AI systems are used in high-risk situations, such as self-harm, suicidal ideation, and threats of violence.
- Synthesize behavioral, psychological, and intelligence signals into clear narratives regarding user needs and system vulnerabilities.
- Produce decision-ready briefs and risk assessments to inform product, safety, and policy decisions.
- Develop and refine behavioral risk frameworks, taxonomies, and indicators, including severity models and escalation pathways.
- Identify early indicators of emerging issues and assess the effectiveness of existing mitigations and safeguards.
- Contribute to incident reviews and post-incident analysis by providing a behavioral perspective to root cause analysis.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in forensic, clinical, trust and safety, or applied academic settings assessing risks of violence, self-harm, or addiction.
- Strong mixed-methods research skills with the ability to work across qualitative and quantitative inputs.
- Proven ability to translate complex human behavior into structured intelligence and actionable recommendations.
- Experience designing or using risk frameworks, taxonomies, or evaluation methods to structure ambiguity.
- Familiarity with AI systems, language models, or human-AI interaction dynamics.
- Ability to communicate clearly across disciplines and thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.
