Strategic Requirements Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, author, and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for cross-system interfaces between space and ground segments
• Work with Configuration Management to prepare for Engineering Review Boards (ERBs) and Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)
• Develop interface diagrams, data dictionaries, message formats, and system-level interface descriptions
• Identify interface risks and drive technical issue resolution across engineering teams
• Support system integration and test activities by providing authoritative interface documentation
• Manage and coordinate Interface Control Working Groups (ICWGs) to ensure consistent stakeholder communication
• Collaborate with modeling teams to ensure models align with ICDs and cybersecurity technical baselines
• Develop technical requirements-related briefings, plans, and documentation to support government decision-making

Requirements

• Eligibility for SECRET/TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field
• 8+ years of experience in satellite systems, spacecraft development, or aerospace engineering
• 5+ years of experience working on DoD programs
• Direct experience developing or managing Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for complex systems
• Strong familiarity with spacecraft subsystems such as payloads, RF comms, power, GNC, and thermal
• Proficiency with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Jama, or Cameo
• Ability to read and create schematics, interface diagrams, and data communication structures
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Active SECRET/TS/SCI clearance
• Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field
• 12+ years of experience with space systems or space acquisitions environments
• Experience in satellite hardware and software development
• Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools
• Professional certifications such as PMP or INCOSE (CSEP/ESEP/ASEP)
