Strategic Category Buyer

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement multi-year strategic sourcing plans for indirect spend categories (e.g., Logistics, Professional Services, MRO) across US, MX, and CA.
• Lead the full sourcing lifecycle, including market research, spend analysis, RFx development, and complex commercial negotiations.
• Manage key supplier relationships through regular performance reviews and driving supplier innovation.
• Partner with internal stakeholders in Finance, HR, Operations, and Logistics to align procurement strategies with business needs.
• Identify cost-reduction and value-enhancement opportunities using total cost of ownership (TCO) principles.
• Mitigate supply chain risks and ensure compliance with company policies and ethical standards.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, procurement, or project management within a corporate environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office programs, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Ability to work under pressure and communicate effectively with senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing and cost breakdown analysis.
• Experience with technical writing or procurement law.
• Advanced certifications such as MBA, MS, CSCP, CPIM, CPSM, or SCPro.
