Store Parts Professional

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt and courteous service to customers in-store and over the telephone
• Look up parts applications using catalogs or POS systems with high accuracy
• Assist and advise customers on technical product questions and needs
• Process sales orders, stock orders, and various financial transactions
• Maintain store appearance, including displays and inventory organization
• Report overages, shortages, or damaged merchandise to management

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• ASE Parts Specialist (automotive) certification
• Ability to operate a vehicle equipped with a manual transmission
• Functional literacy for recognizing and identifying part numbers and line codes
• Ability to lift and move parts and boxes up to 60 pounds
• Ability to stand and walk for an entire assigned work shift

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating TAMS point-of-sale systems and cataloging
• Ability to process cash, check, and credit card transactions
• Experience using moving aids such as hand trucks, barrel dollies, or hydraulic lifts
