Store Parts Professional

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt and courteous service to customers in-store and over the telephone
• Look up parts applications using catalogs or POS systems with high accuracy
• Assist and advise customers on technical product questions and needs
• Implement sales practices including greeting customers and demonstrating product knowledge
• Process orders, stock orders, and manage cash, check, or credit card transactions
• Maintain store appearance, manage displays, and report merchandise discrepancies
• Ensure asset security and follow loss prevention controls

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• ASE Parts Specialist (automotive) certification
• Functional literacy for recognizing and identifying part numbers and line codes
• Ability to operate a vehicle equipped with a manual transmission
• Ability to lift and move parts and boxes up to 60 pounds
• Ability to stand and walk for an entire shift and work retail hours as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating TAMS point-of-sale systems and cataloging
• Ability to use adding machines and process various payment types
• Physical ability to bend, stoop, and reach upper shelves using stools or ladders
• Experience moving heavy equipment like engine blocks using hand trucks or hydraulic lifts
