Store Counter Trainee

Responsibilities

• Provide automotive parts solutions and answers to retail and wholesale customers in person and over the phone
• Deliver outstanding customer care and maintain high energy in a fast-paced retail environment
• Assist team members with technical parts questions using your expertise or available resources
• Utilize store technology including computers, cash registers, telephones, and paper catalog systems
• Engage with customers to ensure a positive and welcoming consumer experience

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License
• Previous experience in the automotive industry or a strong willingness to learn all things auto parts
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail setting
• Strong listening skills and empathy for customer needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Background or passion for heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership environments
• Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, or auto body/collision shop
• Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems
• ASE Certifications
