Store Associate

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers and donors in a positive, friendly, and courteous manner
• Process customer transactions accurately using cash and debit, ensuring minimal voids or shortages
• Sort, price, hang, and store incoming donations according to quality standards
• Maintain store appearance through tidying, restocking shelves, and creating attractive merchandise displays
• Assist with inventory control, including stock rotation and replenishing the sales floor
• Support store safety by maintaining clear exits, cleaning spills, and following OH&S regulations
• Assist donors with unloading contributions and placing stock in appropriate locations

Requirements

• Completion of some high school coursework
• Proven experience with cash handling and operating cash registers
• Ability to lift and move up to 30 lbs frequently, including bending, twisting, and pushing
• Computer literacy and experience working in a computerized environment
• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekdays, evenings, and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail, processing, or distribution of goods
• Knowledge of product brands and retail pricing
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cooperative team
