About the role
Responsibilities
- Greet and interact with customers and donors in a positive, friendly, and courteous manner
- Process customer transactions accurately, including cash and debit sales
- Sort, price, hang, and store incoming donations and raw materials
- Maintain store appearance through tidying, restocking shelves, and creating attractive merchandise displays
- Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and donation turnover
- Ensure a safe environment by following health and safety protocols, including clearing obstacles and cleaning spills
- Monitor store activity to support security and protect the integrity of donated items
Requirements
- Completion of some high school coursework
- Previous experience in customer service or the processing/distribution of goods
- Proven experience with cash handling and operating cash registers
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks including bending, twisting, and reaching
- Physical capability to lift and move up to 30 lbs frequently
- Computer literacy and experience working in a computerized environment
- Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills
