Storage & Backup Administrator

Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise-class storage systems to ensure high operational uptime and adherence to stringent SLAs.
• Perform and test regular backups and restores to ensure enterprise data protection and availability.
• Monitor, analyze, and predict trends for storage performance, space allocation, and data growth.
• Implement and enforce data storage retention policies and security audits to mitigate threats.
• Follow change control, incident response, and testing processes for storage appliances and software.
• Develop and maintain documentation for operational processes, system specifications, and patching procedures.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours patching and emergency support.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Storage & Backup administration.
• Hands-on experience with IBM, NetApp, or EMC storage systems.
• Proficiency with Cohesity, TSM, or IBM Defender.
• Experience managing VTL (e.g., Cybernetics) and SAN switch management.
• Knowledge of Disaster Recovery tools such as VMware SRM or Zerto.
• Strong understanding of ITIL processes and SLA management.
• Ability to work in a 24x7 shift environment and participate in an on-call schedule.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
