About the role
Responsibilities
- Identify students in temporary living situations (STLS) with sensitivity and facilitate immediate enrollment.
- Determine transportation eligibility and manage CTA card distribution and hardship transportation processes.
- Ensure compliance with STLS program requirements and complete all accountability reports accurately.
- Manage student records and updates within the Aspen Student Information System.
- Develop student action plans to address barriers to academic success and monitor attendance and performance.
- Connect families with community-based organizations, local shelters, and housing service providers.
- Collaborate with school and district staff to participate in dispute resolution and student transitions.
- Maintain ongoing communication with STLS students and parents to document interventions and evaluate program success.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Experience engaging collaboratively with vulnerable communities and families experiencing housing instability.
- Strong knowledge of CPS and federal regulations, including the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for reporting and community engagement.
- Proven ability to develop strong, empathetic working relationships with students and caregivers.
- Proficiency in using student information systems (Aspen preferred).
