Steward/Prep Cook

Responsibilities

• Scrape, stack, and clean all dishes, flatware, silver, and glassware properly
• Set up and maintain the dish machine, including filling water tanks and heating elements
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including kitchen equipment, storage areas, and floors
• Assist with the storage of food deliveries and food preparation according to chef specifications
• Follow daily preparation lists to ensure all items are ready for service
• Report any issues regarding food products, kitchen equipment, or work areas to the Chef or Sous Chef
• Ensure safety by posting appropriate caution signs when floors are wet

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior experience in a commercial kitchen preferred
• ServSafe or similar food safety certification preferred
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to stand, walk, and work in wet or hot conditions for extended periods
