About the role
Responsibilities
- Clean and stack all dishes, flatware, silver, glass, and kitchen trays properly
- Store dishes and silver in designated locations
- Set up and maintain the cleaning area, including dish machine assembly and heating elements
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, including kitchen equipment, storage areas, and floors
- Assist with the storage of food deliveries
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble the dishwasher before the end of the shift
- Post appropriate caution signs for wet floors to ensure safety
- Assist with preparing food items according to chef specifications
- Follow daily preparation lists to ensure items are ready for service
- Report equipment or product problems to the Executive Steward
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior work experience in a commercial kitchen preferred
- ServSafe or similar food safety certification preferred
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, crouch, or kneel for extended periods
- Ability to work in wet, cold, or hot conditions
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
