Sterling OMS Lead

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and lead the implementation of enterprise-level IBM Sterling OMS solutions.
• Lead the design and customization of Sterling OMS modules, including Web SOM, Web COM, and Call Center UI.
• Define technical roadmaps and oversee the delivery of complex OMS projects.
• Develop core functionalities such as order orchestration workflows, sourcing rules, and fulfillment logic.
• Oversee integration between Sterling OMS and external systems like ERP (SAP), WMS, CRM, and e-commerce platforms.
• Build and maintain Java-based microservices and REST/SOAP APIs.
• Mentor and lead a team of 3-10 developers and engineers, both onshore and offshore.
• Oversee L2/L3 production support, performing root cause analysis (RCA) for high-impact issues.

Requirements

• 8+ years of overall experience in software development and IT.
• 4-6 years of hands-on experience specifically with IBM Sterling OMS.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Deep proficiency in IBM Sterling OMS components (Inventory Management, Pipelines, User Exits, etc.).
• Strong experience in Java/J2EE and Spring Boot.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred, or Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven design (e.g., Apache Kafka).
• Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases like Oracle or DB2.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and consulting.
• Solid understanding of the Retail domain and order-to-cash lifecycles (SFS, BOPIS, Dropship).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins and Maven.
