Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

• Compound sterile medications following USP 797 standards under pharmacist supervision
• Perform component preparation, solution formulation, aseptic filling, and inspection/packaging of filled units
• Execute daily, weekly, and monthly cleanroom suite support, including equipment calibration, cleaning, and sterilization
• Adhere to safety and environmental procedures by wearing appropriate PPE, including respiratory protection
• Document all compounding-related and facility activities according to SOPs and USP 797 requirements
• Communicate effectively with pharmacists regarding lab issues and utilize equipment as instructed

Requirements

• Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Ohio
• National Certification (CPhT)
• Ability to work night shifts (6:00 PM - 6:30 AM on a rotating 2-2-3-2 schedule)
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform physical tasks including standing for long durations
• Ability to wear respiratory protection (N95, PAPR, etc.) and handle hazardous drugs

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year of compounding experience (sterile or non-sterile)
• Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT)
