At NORY, we design learning journeys where every child in NYC and Boston becomes a risk-taking entrepreneur, an inquisitive problem solver, and an empathetic leader. We are the largest STEM camp provider in NYC, serving 4,000+ campers annually.
Responsibilities
- Turn hands-on STEM projects into lesson plans for children ages 3 to 12
- Design immersive themes and storytelling elements for curriculum
- Prototype and build STEM projects using woodworking, electronics, Arduino, and Scratch
- Create training materials and lead teacher training sessions
- Provide real-time coaching and feedback to teachers at campsites during the summer
- Maintain meticulous documentation for material packing and operations
- Pilot lessons and iterate based on teacher and student feedback
Requirements
- Proven background in teaching and curriculum design
- Hands-on maker experience with woodworking, basic electronics, Arduino, or Microbits
- Proficiency with coding tools like Scratch or computing platforms like Raspberry Pi
- Ability to work on-site at NYC campsites during the summer season
- Strong communication skills for writing guides and delivering live feedback
- Understanding of child development across different age bands
- Submission of a curriculum portfolio and a description of a dream 1-week summer camp
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong coding knowledge
- Experience with 3D printing or laser cutting
