Steam Fitter

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble piping systems using brazing, soldering, threading, and welding
• Install and repair heavy mechanical components including boilers, valves, pumps, compressors, and regulators
• Analyze technical drawings and schematics to plan layouts and determine material costs
• Conduct pressure and leak testing on pipes to ensure safety and code compliance
• Perform other steam fitter related duties as required

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• At least 3 years of Steam Fitting experience within a government facility
• Expertise in steam fitting and maintenance of steam systems
• Proficiency in joining metals such as steel and copper
• Experience using trade tools like saws, benders, and threaders
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform precise measurements
• Ability to lift heavy pipes, climb ladders, and work in tight or hot environments
• Ability to pass a government background check
