Statutory Accountant/Associate Accountant

Responsibilities

• Draft financial statements and notes to accounts in accordance with local GAAP and internal policies
• Convert US GAAP trial balances to local GAAP or IFRS trial balances
• Reconcile US GAAP and local GAAP account balances and explain differences
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of entries in the local GAAP ERP
• Coordinate with the tax team for interim and final tax provision estimates
• Draft and review balance sheet account reconciliations
• Manage the audit process including timetables, PBC lists, and stakeholder communication
• Drive the statutory filing process with local agencies
• Review book closure and identify unusual items
• Collaborate with global accounting, tax, HR, legal, and compliance teams
• Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Identify opportunities for accounting and process improvements
• Research amendments in accounting standards, income taxes, and compliance

Requirements

• Chartered Accountant specialization in accounting
• 1 - 4 years of overall accounting or finance operations experience
• In-depth knowledge of Accounting Standards, IFRS, and audit methodologies
• Proficiency in month-end close processes
• Strong analytical, oral communication, and written skills
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm in a statutory audit team
• IFRS qualification or experience
• Working knowledge of Workday ERP
• Knowledge of corporate taxes and transfer pricing
• Transformational mindset with an AI-driven perspective
