Statistical Programming Intern

Responsibilities

• Contribute to internal workflows and tools to translate and modernize analytical code between SAS, R, and Python
• Read and reason about existing SAS programs to understand business logic and statistical methods
• Design, test, and refine AI-assisted and agentic workflows for code translation and validation
• Validate translated code by comparing outputs against originals and checking edge cases
• Document patterns and translation approaches to support team knowledge-sharing

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a university program (3rd year or above) in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
• Fluency in R for data work, including tidyverse, data frames, and S3/S4/R6 classes
• Experience with reproducible analysis using Git, Quarto, or R Markdown
• Exposure to AI-assisted coding tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or GitHub Copilot
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work through ambiguity
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Python
• Hands-on experience with SAS (PROC steps, DATA steps)
• Experience with interactive data analysis tools like Shiny or plotly
• Exposure to clinical data contexts such as CDISC SDTM/ADaM
• Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, or automated workflows
