About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform operation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment including high-pressure boilers, electrical generators, and water treatment systems
- Support Facilities Operations Steam Plants by managing condensate distribution equipment, pumps, air compressors, and steam line components
- Monitor and maintain computer-controlled systems that support plant operations
- Respond to worksite needs on a 24-hour basis and work rotating shifts as required by operational needs
Requirements
- Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and/or repair of stationary or marine high-pressure boilers and heating systems (OR a Certificate from an accredited vocational/technical school AND two years of experience)
- Ability to obtain a Boiler Operator, First Class license within six months of hire
- Valid driver's license
- Current First Aid, CPR, and AED training (or ability to maintain annual certification)
- Ability to work rotating shifts and respond to emergencies 24/7
Preferred Qualifications
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering education or degree
- Recent experience as a high-pressure steam boiler operator in a plant utilizing a computer-operated, distributed control system
- Recent experience operating 1MW or larger gas or diesel-fired electrical generators
