Station Designer

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 2D and 3D workstation layouts using AutoCAD to ensure alignment with production flow.
• Integrate tooling, fixtures, and equipment within each station to align with material flow strategies.
• Perform hands-on field checks to validate layout accuracy and resolve mechanical or spatial interference issues.
• Specify fixtures, jigs, and assembly aids to optimize product quality, operator ergonomics, and manufacturability.
• Partner with Launch Industrial Engineers to balance line workloads and validate station cycle times against target takt times.
• Support PFMEA documentation, work instructions, and layout revisions.
• Lead or support continuous improvement (Kaizen) initiatives focused on ergonomics and waste reduction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in automotive, heavy equipment, or high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD for creating detailed industrial layouts.
• Strong understanding of PFMEA, DFMEA, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Solid understanding of automation, robotics, or material handling systems.
• Proven ability to manage multiple design projects in a fast-paced launch environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience supporting vehicle assembly line design or new model launch programs.
• Robust working knowledge of lean manufacturing and standardized work practices.
