Static Stress Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality integrated and certified engineering repair solutions for airlines and internal customers.
• Perform stress and strength analyses using standard hand and computer methods to ensure structural integrity.
• Conduct durability and damage tolerance analyses, including detail part sizing and layout maturation.
• Liaise with Design, Fatigue, and other departments to develop optimum design solutions.
• Ensure final repair solutions bring aircraft back into an airworthy condition through proper technical signature delegation.
• Provide technical guidance and responses for routine repair queries within Airbus Operations and Customer Services.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Civil, or Mechanical) with an emphasis on structural design and mechanics of materials.
• Minimum of 3 years of analysis experience in airframe design or repair programs.
• In-depth knowledge of classical and numerical (Finite Element) stress analysis methods.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and G-Suite.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Authorization to work in the US without current or future need for visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Engineering.
• Experience in MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) or Fleet Engineering.
• Exposure to CATIA, NASTRAN, PATRAN, or HYPERWORKS.
• Knowledge of composites, MRB, and FAR/JAR/CS/Part 21 certification processes.
• Proficiency in Python coding.
• Conversational skills in French and/or German.
