Stage Lighting and Special Effect Technician

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair lighting equipment including lighting rig checks and documentation
• Safely handle, set, and dispose of pyrotechnic products onboard
• Manage inventory of all pyrotechnics and prepare confetti cannons
• Set, strike, and perform required show tracks for Walt Disney Theatre production shows
• Operate Lighting/SPFX tracks and train as backup Show Control Technician
• Perform emergency abbreviated shows based on weather and safety requirements
• Contribute to load in/outs, cast changeovers, and new show installations

Requirements

• Minimum two years of show production experience in a similar role
• Experience with repair, maintenance, and operation of intelligent and generic lighting equipment
• Experience with computerized lighting control systems
• Knowledge of special effects systems including smoke and pyrotechnics
• Understanding of staging, scenic, and props
• Ability to work at heights and with heavy equipment
• Ability to work in environments with haze, fog, dry ice, and other special effects
• Valid passport and ability to obtain C1/D Seaman's visa
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and criminal background check
