Staff/Senior Software Engineer, Platform Teams

Responsibilities

• Build platforms that engineers depend on, including APIs, authentication, and deployment tooling
• Manage seamless migrations from legacy systems
• Collaborate with engineering teams to build necessary abstractions
• Build shared infrastructure and agentic workflows for AI-native development
• Architect services to handle write-heavy consumer traffic and data
• Design performant, secure, scalable, and observable systems
• Build and operate distributed databases, caching layers, and storage systems
• Scale Kubernetes infrastructure and control planes
• Design inference infrastructure for fast and reliable AI workloads
• Mentor other engineers and raise the bar for engineering quality

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of infrastructure, backend, or systems engineering experience
• Experience building and operating systems at significant scale in production
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud services (AWS/GCP)
• Expertise in infrastructure and platform security best practices
• Experience building internal systems such as auth, notifications, or CDN
• Familiarity with backend API design patterns for web and mobile clients
• Hands-on familiarity with AI for software engineering (models, agents, coding assistants)
• Experience with websockets, streaming traffic patterns, or real-time protocols
• Strong communication and mentorship skills
• Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
