About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site technical anchor at the Hiroshima plant while leading global Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) network initiatives.
- Drive alignment and standardization of wafer transport, storage systems, and carrier purge solutions across the global manufacturing network.
- Own day-to-day system performance and availability at Fab15, monitoring critical metrics such as OEE, system uptime, and wafer logistics throughput.
- Lead data-driven root cause analysis for high-impact AMHS events and develop standardized recovery playbooks and Best Known Methods (BKMs).
- Optimize equipment capacity, storage utilization, and material flow to reduce bottlenecks and minimize tool starvation.
- Evaluate and deploy next-generation automation technologies and ensure smooth transitions into stable production operations.
- Collaborate with global engineering, IT, and supplier teams to influence network leadership decisions through data-backed recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field).
- 5–10 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, AMHS, or factory automation.
- Proven experience leading large-scale, complex automation systems in high-volume manufacturing (HVM) environments.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming languages to automate reporting, data extraction, and operational workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured, data-driven approach to root cause analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical topics to both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Ability to influence decisions across different geographies and disciplines without direct reporting authority.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with global or multi-site engineering governance.
- Deep knowledge of AMHS scheduling logic and semiconductor contamination control.
- Familiarity with Sorter, BWS, NTB, and N2 purge solutions.
- Japanese language proficiency (spoken and/or written) to support collaboration with local equipment suppliers.
