Staff/Principal Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural transformations across voice agent platforms, integration systems, or core platform scaling.
• Own end-to-end architecture for next-generation voice agents, including streaming pipelines (ASR → LLM → TTS) and low-latency orchestration.
• Redesign integration platforms into resilient, self-serve systems with typed connector frameworks and robust observability.
• Execute decomposition strategies for legacy monoliths using incremental migration patterns like the strangler-fig approach.
• Drive engineering excellence in reliability, performance optimization, and developer experience (SDKs, contracts, and sandboxes).
• Manage large-scale system migrations with zero-downtime cutovers and safety nets.

Requirements

• Proven track record of building and operating high-traffic, large-scale distributed systems.
• Deep experience with real-time or streaming systems (voice, video, RTC, or low-latency ML serving).
• Expertise in modern agent stacks, including LLM orchestration, function calling, and RAG.
• Strong background in building developer-facing platforms, SDKs, or highly extensible integration layers.
• Proficiency in distributed systems fundamentals: idempotency, eventual consistency, queues, and failure isolation.
• Mastery of system performance tools: profiling, query optimization, and capacity planning.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multi-quarter modernization projects and complex migrations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing the transition from legacy monolithic architectures to modern microservices.
• Ability to balance greenfield innovation with the maintenance and evolution of decade-old codebases.
• Strong technical judgment regarding project prioritization and risk management.
