About the role
Responsibilities

- Collaborate with editors, newsletter, social media, video, and other digital teams
- Work closely with copy editors, fact-checkers, legal counsel, and production staff to meet rigorous standards and deadlines
- Maintain high ethical standards in all reporting and writing

- Demonstrated experience with in-depth reporting, narrative writing, and ideas-driven essays
- Ability to write with originality, clarity, precision, and rigor
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work independently
- Familiarity with The New Yorker’s tone, values, and editorial sensibility
- Willingness to travel for reporting and respond to news events as necessary
