Staff Video Player Engineer, iOS

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of video player features on iOS and tvOS
• Drive efforts in performance, scalability, security, and engineering best practices
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Backend teams to build features for FOX video streaming initiatives
• Provide technical specifications, documentation, and track tasks for team members
• Deliver software using agile methodologies and stay updated on emerging mobile technologies
• Support and develop other software engineers through coaching and educational opportunities

Requirements

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field
• Proficiency in Swift and Objective C
• Experience with Cocoa design patterns and XCode tools
• Experience building components for video playback, user interfaces, and video metadata
• Experience with RESTful APIs, unit testing, and end-to-end testing
• Proficiency with Git, SVN, Jenkins, Docker, and Agile methodologies
• Strong communication and documentation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with video streaming technologies such as HLS
• Knowledge of video QoE metrics, ABR algorithms, and frameworks like AVPlayer or AV Foundation
• Experience with analytics platforms such as Conviva or Segment
• Experience leading a mobile application team at a technology company
