Staff Thermal Simulation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead thermal strategy, conceptualize design, and perform numerical simulations for vehicle electrical hardware
• Develop electronic cooling and packaging solutions for next generation vehicle architectures
• Define and support best practices for CFD usage in electronic thermal management
• Optimize thermal and mechanical components to minimize mass, cost, and material usage
• Provide detailed design suggestions including thermal stack-up, cooling layout, and material selection
• Coordinate analysis methodologies and design constraints with other departments
• Own thermal methodologies, deliverables, and test specifications to support modeling efforts
• Work in multidisciplinary teams to drive product and engineering excellence

Requirements

• Masters Degree in Mechanical/Thermal Engineering or equivalent (PhD preferred)
• 4-6+ years of experience in electronic cooling solutions, heat sink design, and fan development
• Deep understanding of conduction, convection, and radiation
• Strong expertise with CFD analysis tools such as Flotherm, Ansys Icepack, or Star CCM
• Experience with flow and measurement techniques
• Experience with 3D CAD, scripting, and data analysis
• Experience with experimental thermal measurements using tools like DAQ, LabView, or Siemens t3ster
• Strong grasp of failure analysis methodologies and product reliability procedures
• Experience developing and leading multidisciplinary engineers
• Excellent communication skills
