About the role
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end PCIe Gen5/Gen6 system architecture for NVMe SSD product lines
- Define and review PCIe and NVMe integration across SSD products
- Manage SoC/ASIC integration including clocks, resets, power domains, and lane mapping
- Establish PCIe SFR and firmware design guidelines for LTSSM, power states, and error handling
- Lead platform bring-up and debug for enumeration, link training, and speed negotiation
- Coordinate NVMe power states (APST) with PCIe L-states to optimize latency and stability
- Act as the technical authority for cross-team and customer escalations
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in systems design or similar semiconductor roles
- Deep expertise in PCIe configuration and extended capability registers (MSI/MSI-X, AER, BARs)
- Experience with PHY/MAC IP review and integration requirements
- Strong understanding of NVMe behavior and firmware architecture
- Proficiency in debugging link training, speed negotiation, and power management transitions
- Knowledge of platform interoperability across client laptops and enterprise servers
