Staff Specialist Field Engineer, Robotics

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the Robotics vertical within the Physical AI Field Engineering team
• Define engagement models for robotics customers and set technical standards for the practice
• Lead complex customer engagements from initial scoping through deployment and expansion
• Build and iterate on customer-facing applications using the CoreWeave product stack
• Synthesize field signals to inform the development of standalone product capabilities
• Validate ML solutions on physical grounds to ensure they respect real-world system constraints

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in robotics systems development, robot learning, or AI/ML for physical autonomous systems
• Deep understanding of physical system dynamics, kinematics, and engineering constraints
• Hands-on ML capability in Python using modern ML frameworks
• Proficiency with JupyterHub, VS Code, Marimo, and W&B Models
• Working knowledge of imitation learning, reinforcement learning, sim-to-real transfer, or trajectory prediction
• Experience leading complex technical customer engagements and managing multi-stakeholder environments
• Familiarity with robot simulation environments like Isaac Sim, MuJoCo, or Gazebo
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying robot learning systems on real hardware and managing the sim-to-real gap
• Familiarity with foundation models for robotics
• Experience with compute-intensive training workloads and infrastructure requirements
• Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 and associated tooling
