Staff Specialist Field Engineer, Autonomous Vehicles

Responsibilities

• Establish and lead the Autonomous Vehicles vertical within the Physical AI Field Engineering team
• Define engagement models for autonomous vehicle customers and set technical standards
• Lead complex customer engagements from initial contact through embedded deployment
• Build and validate ML solutions independently using the CoreWeave product stack
• Develop customer-facing applications tailored to specific autonomous vehicle use cases
• Synthesize field signals to inform product development and standalone capabilities

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in autonomous vehicle systems, perception, motion planning, or AI/ML for L4-5 systems
• Deep familiarity with sensor modalities including camera, LiDAR, and radar
• Hands-on ML capability with Python and modern ML frameworks
• Proficiency with JupyterHub, VS Code, Marimo, and W&B Models
• Knowledge of ML approaches like object detection, motion prediction, and closed-loop simulation
• Experience leading complex technical customer engagements and managing stakeholders
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 and SOTIF
• Experience with simulation environments like CARLA or LGSVL
• Familiarity with edge deployment of ML models in safety-critical environments
• Experience working within AI infrastructure or MLOps environments
