Staff Specialist Field Application Engineer

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for card manufacturers in Latin America regarding payment chip modules
• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support, assisting customers with the selection, evaluation, and integration of Infineon payment chip ICs
• Guide customers through technical aspects of EMVCo, Visa, Mastercard, and transit scheme certification processes
• Support customers in identifying suitable chip modules for banking contactless cards and transit applications
• Collaborate with local and regional sales teams to provide technical input for business development and RFQ/RFI responses
• Act as a technical bridge between customers and global product teams, escalating complex issues and reporting market trends

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• 3 to 5 years of technical experience in semiconductors, smart cards, payment systems, or embedded systems
• Knowledge of industry standards including ISO 14443, ISO 7816, and EMVCo specifications
• Fluency in Portuguese and English (mandatory)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to translate complex technical issues into practical solutions

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Spanish language skills
• Experience working with or supporting card manufacturers (card bureaus)
• Familiarity with NFC protocols and contactless payment card architectures
• Understanding of the card manufacturing and personalization process
• Hands-on experience with smart card testing tools, card readers, or protocol analyzers
