Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable distributed system solutions for a cloud agnostic platform
• Analyze fault-tolerance, high availability, performance, and scale challenges
• Own end-to-end project delivery from design and implementation to production rollout
• Build next-generation transaction systems, caching, storage engines, and multi-tenant capabilities
• Evangelize best practices in database usage and end-to-end architecture
• Pinpoint problems and implement instrumentation and solutions

Requirements

• 8+ years of industry experience designing and supporting large-scale production infrastructure
• Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems for stateful services
• Experience in container orchestration, cluster management, or autoscaling
• Deep understanding of operating systems (multi-threading, memory management, networking, storage)
• Strong systems programming skills and fluency in Java
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes, Mesos, OpenShift, or similar container platforms
• BS in Computer Science

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in Computer Science
• Experience with scalable Key-Value stores (FoundationDB, RocksDB, LevelDB, DynamoDB, Redis)
• Experience with Big Data storage technologies (HDFS, Cassandra, Columnar Databases)
