Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as an expert on Snowflake architecture, query processing, workload profiling, and data engineering
• Maintain expertise in competitor solutions for analytics and data engineering
• Define, automate, execute, and publish competitive benchmarks
• Partner with engineering teams to provide guidance on performance gaps and advantages
• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to improve product and ecosystem roadmaps

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Database, Data Warehouse, or Data Engineering implementations
• Experience working with engineering teams, product managers, and management
• Strong communication skills for technical and executive audiences
• Broad understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.)
• Proven track record with Snowflake competitors
• Deep understanding of the data engineering and analytics stack
• Technical expertise in databases and data processing
• Coding experience in process automation
• Strong SQL performance analysis and Python or Java expertise

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with large-scale distributed data processing (Databricks, Spark, BigQuery, Redshift, etc.)
• Software development experience with C/C++, Java, or Scala
• Scripting experience with Python, Ruby, Perl, or Bash
• Knowledge of AI and Machine Learning technologies (PyTorch, etc.)
• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
