Staff Software Engineer, Security

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain highly scalable, distributed software systems for core security engineering
• Develop high-throughput control integrations and data pipelines for security telemetry (IAM, logs, vulnerability scanners)
• Architect advanced metrics engines and real-time dashboards for compliance and risk visibility
• Provide technical direction, mentorship, and architectural oversight to the security engineering team
• Scale automated security checks within CI/CD pipelines
• Manage critical platform security services including PKI, SPIFFE/SPIRE, and HashiCorp Vault
• Engineer secure, high-throughput distributed systems using Linux and Kubernetes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of professional software development experience
• 5+ years of production-grade programming in Go or Rust
• 4+ years of experience managing applications at scale on Kubernetes and public cloud
• Proven track record of designing fault-tolerant, high-QPS distributed systems
• Strong experience with GCP or AWS
• Deep familiarity with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
• Expert-level proficiency in distributed systems and infrastructure automation
• Deep operational experience with Kubernetes internals and operators
• Experience implementing HashiCorp Vault and SPIFFE/SPIRE

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced understanding of authentication and authorization at scale
• Experience engineering security tools for AI/ML or high-performance computing environments
• Active contributor to open-source security engineering projects
