Staff Software Engineer, Search Platform

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Product Managers to analyze requirements and produce technical solutions and execution plans.
• Design, implement, and deliver production-grade streaming ingestion using Flink or similar technologies, focusing on low-latency and high-throughput.
• Tackle complex problems in timely computation, stateful stream processing, partitioning, and resilience.
• Proactively troubleshoot and address technical bottlenecks within the search infrastructure.
• Participate in critical code, design, and performance reviews to raise the technical bar across the team.
• Collaborate with local and global engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to translate business needs into robust solutions.

Requirements

• More than 7 years of back-end development experience.
• Proven experience in developing and maintaining large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency in coding and scripting languages such as Java, Kotlin, C++, or Python.
• Deep knowledge of storage and streaming technologies, specifically PostgreSQL or Kafka.
• Strong software and system design abilities with a focus on writing clear, maintainable, and efficient code.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with event-driven architecture and parallelization.
• Prior work on large-scale data processing pipelines and search engines (e.g., Kafka, Spark, Flink, or Elasticsearch).
• Exposure to microservice architectures, observability, and cloud-native infrastructure like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience integrating AI-powered search enhancements, such as embeddings, semantic search, or re-ranking models.
